A couple of weeks ago Fresh Egg were invited to the ‘Make it into Media’ event, which took place at the fabulous Corn Exchange venue in Brighton, and was organised by Wired Sussex. The event featured media firms from all over Sussex and although it wasn’t an actual jobs fair, it was a place where anybody who wanted a bit of advice about the industry could come and visit and maybe pick up a few contacts and future leads.

The HR manager Annie Marshall and I set up a stand at the event and about midway through the day I took to the stage to give a presentation on how I got into Search Engine Optimisation and to give my advice on the best paths into the industry. (more…)

Following months of judging and a long and drawn out week of stressing following our shortlisting, Fresh Egg are absolutely thrilled to be able to announce that we are winners in the 2009 Econsultancy Innovation Awards!

The judging panel included some of Econsultanty’s in-house internet gurus as well as an international panel of third party experts and it was agreed by them all that the standard of the hundreds of entries was extremely high and that the winners were picked for their innovation either in creative terms or pure technology. We won this prestigious award in the “Innovation in Web Analytics and Optimization” category for our CallTrackID tool. (more…)

For those of you who aren’t familar with SEO Quake, its an awesome tool, both in terms of the information that it provides as well as the time that it can save you.

It essentially works by dragging useful SEO information from various places across the internet, be it Google, Yahoo or DMOZ, and displaying it on a single page for you to view.

Some of the main features that I frequently use on SEO Quake are;

Meta Data – SEO Quake makes it much easier to view Meta Data than using View > Page Source in your browser as it provides the Page Title, Meta Description and Meta Keywords in an easy to read format, unsurrounded by HTML code. (more…)
